The pore size distributions of both soil samples were obtained with the FHH equation on data measured by mercury intrusion and water vapor adsorption. Measured soil pore radii did not change from pH 3 to about pH 7, whereas they increased linearly above pH 8 (Figure 6.5). On the other hand, Ds values decreased almost linearly from about 2.8 (pH 3) to about 2.65 (pH 12), corresponding to an increased leaching of organic matter over the pH range investigated. Similar investigations were carried out on other soils [114, 122].
